It’s like rain, on your wedding day…

Isn’t it ironic... Don’t you think? Rain on your wedding day might not be what you envisioned, but it doesn't have to dampen your spirits or your celebration. With some thoughtful preparation and a positive attitude, you can turn a rainy forecast into a memorable and magical experience.

Come rain or shine

Living in England means embracing the unpredictability of the weather. Even in the midst of summer, a sudden shower can make an appearance. Therefore, it's wise to have contingency plans in place regardless of the season. Keep an eye on the forecast a few days before your wedding, but remember, rain or shine, your wedding will be beautiful. While it may require some adjustments, rainy weddings often have a charm and intimacy that sunny ones can't replicate. Talk to your wedding planner, venue and photographer to liaise and adjust plans to work around the weather. Embrace the weather as part of your day's story can lead to unexpected moments and stunning photographs.

Bring a brolly

Clear umbrellas are not only practical but can also add a magical and atmospheric feeling to your wedding photos. Opting for transparent umbrellas allows your photographer to capture candid moments without obstructing the view. Plus, they provide excellent protection for you and your guests while still allowing natural light to filter through.

These clear umbrellas have create a beautiful bubble shape like in the photos from Ellie and Rob’s wedding at the beautiful Two Woods Estate.

Stomp some puddles

Soft ground and high heels don't always mix well, especially when rain is involved. Prepare for muddy terrain by bringing along a pair of comfortable shoes for navigating outdoor areas. Whether it's a pair of cool converse or fun welly boots, having a backup option will ensure you can move around with ease and capture some fun photos that tell a story!

Dryers on Standby

Having an area you can go to to dry off is a really good idea. Ensure you have a set of towels on hand and a hairdryer this will help to quickly dry off any stray droplets and damp wedding dress’s.

Style for the rain

Rain isn’t the best pairing with a down hairstyle like Hollywood waves or a sleek blow dry. If you're concerned about your hairstyle holding up against the elements, consider opting for an updo which will be more resilient to wind and rain.

While rain on your wedding day may not have been part of your original plan, it doesn't have to put a damper on your celebration. By embracing the unpredictable English weather and taking proactive steps to prepare, you can turn a rainy forecast into a unique and unforgettable experience. From clear umbrellas to spare shoes and weather-proof hairstyles, a little preparation goes a long way in ensuring your special day goes off without a hitch. So embrace the raindrops, dance in the puddles, and create memories that will last a lifetime. After all, a little rain can't wash away the love and joy of your wedding day.
