About me

Naomi Spurr in her facial studio in Brighton, Sussex

Hi I’m Naomi

I have always loved working with my hands whether that was bringing a creative idea to life or more recently providing holistic treatments.

Over the first eight years of my career I applied this to hair & makeup across TV, Film, Theatre, Weddings (and the occasional themed party!). You can check out my IMDB credits here or some of my work on Instagram and Pinterest.

Now I love spending my time in the studio treating clients to holistic facials and creating bespoke skin plans. Working with each individual to help them feel confident in their own skin. Through education on how to maximise what they already have and teaching clients how to take better care of their skin through natural, holistic and simple techniques.

Sea-air and a sassy spaniel

I grew up in Wiltshire and lived in London on and off for 11 years. During covid my boyfriend and I ticked off all the lockdown cliches and escaped London to Brighton with our dog, Skye (the most beautiful member of the family - if a little naughty)! Now, we’re all about morning beach walks and fair weather sea dips.

Naomi Spurr Studios is based in my home creating a clean, calm and relaxed environment for facials in the heart of Brighton, a short walk from the station, the lanes, the sea and Seven Dials - come round and I’m sure you’ll see why we made the move!

Naomi Spurr Studio on film set doing hair and makeup

On set, backstage and in the skin studio

In 2012 I trained at Delemar Acadamy specialising in hair and makeup for film and TV. More recently, I qualified in VCTC Level 2 Facials and Level 3 Facial electrics. I am further BABTAC accredited for courses in sculptural facial massage, buccal massage and Gua Sha/beauty tools.

Over my 8 years experience working in theatre, film & tv I built up the skills for natural makeup on camera, and hair that holds all day. Some of my screen credits include Killing Eve, Mr Selfridge, Pan, Maleficent and theatre work in the West End and The National Theatre on Mamma Mia, Kinky Boots, Small Island and My Brilliant Friend.

Every job is different, meaning I’ve picked up a range of skills from amazing hair & makeup artists and skin therapists across the industry. Life on set is fast paced and keeps you on your toes, making it the best training of all - adapting skills whilst maintaining speed, attention to detail, what looks good on camera and occasionally whipping out the gold body paint…

eco friendly, cruelty free and natural products at naomi spurr studio

Good for you, and the planet

Being sustainable is really important to me. I have chosen products with ingredients that are kinder to your skin as well as being cruelty free. I use Dermaviduals to treat skins in my facials.

I built up my hair and makeup kit over years of professional work, so it is a process, but where possible my core products are more eco friendly with ingredients sourced from natural origin, clean or from companies with a sustainable ethos. In my makeup kit I have Chantecaille, Hourglass, Jones Road, Kosas, Eva Perza, Ilia and Kjaer Weis. It currently also contains some MAC, Charlotte Tilbury & Nars which I am gradually phasing out. Hair products include Kevin Murphy, Aveda, Maria Nila, Orbie, Bouclem.
